China Pledges to Help Rwandan Children

The Chinese Embassy in Rwanda has pledged to support children in the country.

Plans are to provide 108 kids with educational support such as fees, school supplies and health insurance.

According to charity Save the Children, despite extreme poverty and the legacy of the 1994 genocide, Rwanda has already halved the number of deaths of children under five and is now driving through an ambitious program to improve the quality of even more lives.

Which is all thanks to initiatives such as this that support the development of Rwanda's generation of youngsters.

The funding will be channeled through the Imbuto Foundation, a charity organization of Rwanda's First Lady, Jeannette Kagame.

The deal runs until the end of 2017 with the hope of renewal thereafter.
